Document Preparation: The lender prepares the loan documents, including the promissory note, mortgage, and other relevant paperwork. Scheduling the Closing: The closing appointment is scheduled with all parties involved, including the borrower, attorney or escrow officer, lender, notary, and any necessary witnesses. Review Documents: At the appointment, the borrower reviews all the loan documents to ensure accuracy and understanding. Sign Documents: The borrower signs the loan documents in the presence of the notary, who verifies the identity and willingness of the signer. Notarization: The notary notarizes the necessary documents, ensuring all signatures are valid and properly executed. Document Delivery: The signed and notarized documents are delivered to the lender and title company for processing. Funds Disbursement: The lender disburses the loan funds to the appropriate parties, such as the seller or escrow account. Recording: The mortgage or deed of trust is recorded with the county recorder's office to make it a public record. Final Steps: The borrower receives copies of the signed documents, and the loan closing process is complete.
